Dear Roger,

Less than two weeks docked in Melbourne, we find ourselves heading back to Antarctica to continue defending the whales from the Japanese harpoons. While the Australian government takes pictures, Sea Shepherd refuses to bear witness to the mass murder of whales. We are refueled, reprovisioned and have a dedicated crew helping to make this the most successful Sea Shepherd campaign for the whales ever.
Steve Irwin returns to Antarctica for the whales

Sea Shepherd Returns to AntarcticaSea Shepherd is heading back to Antarctica, begining phase II of Operation Migaloo.
Operation Migaloo II will see the Steve Irwin returning to the Southern Whale Sanctuary to once again locate the Japanese fleet and interfere with their illegal whaling activities. Sea Shepherd's objective with Operation Migaloo II will be to shut down all whaling activities for the next four to five weeks, just as we were able to do from January 8th to February 1st.

Japanese whalers documented killing whales

The Australia Government has released footage and photos taken by the official customs vessel Oceanic Viking. Disturbing images of a female piked whale and her calf being hauled onto the Japanese factory ship are infuriating.

Says Captain Watson: "We need to get back there and stop this slaughter... Once we return we can put a stop to this killing once again."

Sharkwater released in the UK on Feb. 22
Sharkwater: The Truth Will SurfaceAward winning documentary Sharkwater will have its theatrical release in the United Kingdom on February 22. In the film, shark conservationist Rob Stewart teams up with Captain Watson and Sea Shepherd to combat the shark fin mafia in Costa Rica and the Galapagos.

"This is a film that will forever shatter the stereotypical myths that surround sharks. Where Jaws taught people to hate and fear sharks, Rob Stewart's passionate masterpiece will have people loving and caring for these important animals," praises Captain Watson.

Thanks to the outpouring of support from our friends around the world, the Japanese government will not be killing whales unopposed. Hopefully, they won't be killing whales at all. Sea Shepherd is heading back to the whale sanctuary to end illegal whaling, and I thank you for helping make it possible.
