New York Times columnist Paul Krugman observes that the Right's
media goes berserk when dealing with Al Gore, in part because he
had the audacity to outpoll their hero, George W. Bush, in 2000.

But right-wing pundits aren't alone in this animosity. The big U.S.
news outlets, including the Times, have taken their share of unfair
shots at Gore. Even after he won the Nobel Peace Prize, CNN and the
Washington Post editors couldn't resist the need to denigrate him.
