<p>In an October 5 <a href="http://mediamatters.org/rd?src=item200710060003&http://www.marktalk.com/blog/2007/10/05/media-matters-attacks-mark-williams-comments-on-obama/" title="http://www.marktalk.com/blog/2007/10/05/media-matters-attacks-mark-williams-comments-on-obama/">blog 
entry</a> on MarkTalk.com, former radio host Mark Williams claimed 
that <i>Media Matters for America</i> 
"attack[ed]" him by highlighting his <a href="http://mediamatters.org/items/200710050005?f=h_latest" title="http://mediamatters.org/items/200710050005?f=h_latest">statement</a> on 
the October 5 edition of Fox News&#39; <i>America&#39;s 
Newsroom</i> that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) came "out of the closet as the domestic 
insurgent that he is," referring to Obama&#39;s comments explaining why he no longer 
wears an American flag lapel pin. Williams wrote: "Media Matters seems to take 
exception with my accurate description of Barack bin al Hussein Osama O&#39;Bomber 
as a &#39;domestic insurgent.&#39; 
" Williams, however, offered no explanation of how <i>Media 
Matters</i>&#39; reproduction of his comments constituted an "attack" on him. Instead he wrote: "Cockroaches always 
hate having a light shined on them."</p>

<p>Williams has made <a href="http://mediamatters.org/items/200508240013?src=item200710060003" title="http://mediamatters.org/items/200508240013">several</a> <a href="http://mediamatters.org/items/200609130014?src=item200710060003" title="http://mediamatters.org/items/200609130014">appearances</a> on MSNBC&#39;s 
<i><a href="http://mediamatters.org/items/200708170008?src=item200710060003" title="http://mediamatters.org/items/200708170008">Hardball</a></i> and 
<i><a href="http://mediamatters.org/items/200609280003?src=item200710060003" title="http://mediamatters.org/items/200609280003">Tucker</a></i>, during 
which he attacked Democrats and progressives, most recently claiming that 
Democrats are "playing politics" with the Iraq war and "plucking the pennies off 
the eyelids of the newly dead."</p>
