Support Infoshop and the Alternative Media Project

Dear Infoshop supporter,

Infoshop.org has been providing resources, information and news since
1995 for tens of thousands of people around the world. Our website
currently reaches over 100,000 different people on average each month.
Our popular newswire, Infoshop News, is read by thousands of people each
day. We cover current issues and events from points of view that go
beyond the standard analysis found in the liberal media. Infoshop has
covered the ongoing disaster on the Gulf Coast--we helped raise several
thousand dollars to get the Common Ground clinic started. We've helped
hundreds of organizations promote their events, campaigns, and projects.
Infoshop News has covered the ongoing fight against anti-immigrant
racists, developing environmental problems, the growing anti-war
movements, anti-corporate activism, the Green Scare against
environmental and animal rights activists and much more.

The Infoshop.org website continues to be one of the most popular online
destinations for information and resources. In the past few months we've
upgraded services on the website, re-designed several sections, and
moved most of our old content to the Drupal content management system.
These changes will make the site more user-friendly and maximize
participation by our users.

The Alternative Media Project is much more than just a website. Our
organization is still planning to launch a new quarterly magazine of
news, reviews, analysis and opinion. Breaking Glass Press will be our
publishing imprint, but we have struggled to get this project going due
to lack of funds. We also want to develop AMP into a regular nonprofit
organization which will focus on assisting alternative media and social
change movements around the globe.

Goal for Fall 2007 online fundraiser: $7500

The Alternative Media Project is currently raising funds to build our
new office in Kansas City. We also need money to cover the following
expenses and projects:

* $300 - to fly Infoshop/AMP collective member Jamie "Bork" Loughner
from New Orleans to Kansas City in October for some vacation and to help
us set up the Infoshop office. She'll also be working on the first issue
of our new magazine.
* $75 - Pays for one article by staff writer Kari Lydersen
* $75/month - Mutual aid support to volunteer Viviane Lerner
* $75 - Buys an investigative article by another freelancer
* $200/month - Provides a stipend to collective member Chuck Munson
* $3500 - Pays for publishing the Black Bloc Papers
* $1500 - Pays the print bill for one issue of Infoshop News & Views
* $100/month - Pays one month of rent for our new office
* $80/month - Pays for a DSL line for the new Infoshop News server
* $40/month - Pays the phone bill

Our new office will only cost $100 month to rent. The construction costs
are quite low, but we need some money to buy some materials and office
supplies.
