New Argentine TV Ad Demands Freedom for Cuban Five

Havana, August 28 (acn) An advertisement demanding the freedom of the 
five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly held in US prisons has been 
produced by the America 24 Argentinean TV channel and screened before 
an audience of 6,000 youngsters gathered at the Caseros Sports Center 
in Buenos Aires.

The cultural activity included the screening of a video clip recently 
shot in Cuba by "La 25" Argentinean rock band. They condemn free trade 
policies with their lyrics and insert images of posters and slogans 
from Havana's streets.

First secretary of the Cuban embassy in Argentina, Orestes Hernandez, 
praised the  work of the band, acknowledged as one of the best rock 
bands across the country, reports Prensa Latina news agency.

Orestes recalled that Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, RamC3n 
LabaC1ino, RenC) Gonzalez and Gerardo Hernandez, internationally known as 
the Cuban Five, were detained in 1998 for having infiltrated right-wing 
anti-Cuba organizations based in Florida, whose terrorist activities 
against the island over the last 45 years have caused death and huge 
damage.

The Cuban diplomat noted that the Five were charged with espionage and 
punished with extremely harsh sentences despite the antiterrorist 
nature of their mission.

During the show, members of the Argentinean rock band talked about 
their stay in the island and manifested their admiration for the 
courage and determination of the Cuban people.
