NYT on Iraq: Better Late Than Never?

A full-length New York Times editorial concludes that it is time
to bring the U.S. military occupation of Iraq to an end.

While many anti-war Americans may welcome the weight of the nation's
most prestigious newspaper, others may wonder what took the Times
so long to reach this assessment of George W. Bush's bloody folly.

A deeper question remains why the leading U.S. news organizations
did so little to raise timely questions about the wisdom of invading
an Arab nation.
