IPS-English UAE: U.S. media delegation applauds countrys achievements Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2007 21:00:48 -0700 From: WAM Service Att.Editors: The following item is from the Emirates News Agency (WAM) ABU DHABI, Jun. 15 (WAM) - Members of a visiting media delegation from the United States have expressed profound happiness and appreciation of what they have seen regarding the startling achievements made by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in all areas. The 13-member delegation, which arrived in the country at the invitation of the National Media Commission and in coordination with the UAE Embassy in Washington, said such a great achievement must undoubtedly have behind it a wise leadership and a hard working people. In a statement to WAM, some of the delegation members said, following a series of press conferences they had with a number of senior UAE officials, the meetings had given them the opportunity to have insight about the history of the UAE's development and progress in various sectors, including, education, industry, economy, trade, building and construction, as well as in the tourism sector. The delegation, most of them members of the Newspaper Association of America (NAA), consist of representatives of media houses, including newspapers, magazines, TV channels and radio stations from various U.S. states.
