Discussing Paris Hilton's jail sentence, Greg Kelly stated: "[A]ccording to John Edwards, this kind of drives home his point about two Americas. He said this on the campaign trail: 'I still believe,' he said, 'with regard to Paris Hilton, that we have two Americas.' " In fact, Edwards said: "I still do believe, without regard to Paris Hilton, that we have two Americas."

Cavuto falsely claimed Edwards "used" Hilton sentence to make "class argument"
On Your World, Neil Cavuto falsely asserted that John Edwards had "used" Paris Hilton "in part of his campaign comments, talking about the dichotomy between the rich and the poor." In fact, when asked at a press conference to comment on Hilton, Edwards responded that he was "gonna stay out of the Paris Hilton story." Read more

Fox News' Herridge misinformed on whether new method can supplant stem cell research
On the June 7 edition of Fox News' Special Report, Fox News homeland defense correspondent Catherine Herridge reported that opponents of a bill that would ease restrictions on federally funded embryonic stem cell research cited alternative methods, such as a new technique in the experimental stage, in which scientists were able to use skin cells from mice to develop cells that have regenerative properties similar to that of a mouse's embryonic stem cell. On Meet the Press, Gerth and Van Natta cling to falsehood about Clinton's criticism of Bush on war
On the June 10 broadcast of NBC's Meet the Press, Jeff Gerth, co-author of Her Way: The Hopes and Ambitions of Hillary Rodham Clinton (Little, Brown & Co., June 2007), again claimed that prior to June 2006, Clinton "didn't accuse" President Bush "of misusing the authority" granted him by the 2002 Authorization For Use Of Military Force Against Iraq. In fact, as Media Matters for America has noted, she did precisely that in an interview more than two years before. Read more
