From the Hill: Immigration Update The Senate will return to the debate on overhauling the U.S. immigration system when it returns from recess on June 4. The Senate is considering a bipartisan compromise bill that may provide some important new fixes to the current immigration system, but also includes (so far) punitive, unworkable provisions that would separate families, create a permanent underclass, and exploit workers. The bill was changing daily as amendments were adopted, and changes will continue when the Senate returns.
