(NYSEG) will sue Niagata Mohawk Power Corp. to stop it transferring
operation of the Nine Mile Point 2 npp to the New York Nuclear
Operating Company (NYNOC).

1998 - India is very pleased with a deal with
Russia to build two 1000 MW npp's in the south of India. The deal is
estimated to be worth $3 billion. India promised the new npp's will
be subject to safeguards by the IAEA.

The unit was shut down on June 16 after a problem with one of its
turbine generators.

1998 - The U.S. intelligence is watching closely
if Pakistan is not sharing its nuclear capability with countries like
Iran and Libya. Although the scenario is not thought to be likely
Pakistan might try to sell its technology due to a lack of financial
means
caused by the sanctions imposed on Pakistan after it exploded
nuclear bombs.

businesses of Westinghouse
