Pakistan not to conduct a nuclear test.
It is assumptioned that Pakistan has the capability to make a
nuclear test within a few days.



BEIJING May 14 1998 (Reuters) - On Thursday North Korea gave
the hint that it could resume its nuclear program.
During his visit to Beijing the North Korean ambassodor
complained about the US of not fulfilling their promise to
supply North Korea with a Light-water reactor.
North Korea is thinkink of restart construction of a graphite-
moderate reactor which is able to produce weapon-grade
material.


WASHINGTON May 14 1998 (Reuters) - US officials told Tuesday
that till Sunday Pakistan would be able to conduct an
underground nuclear test.
In Pakistan consequences of such a test are considered by
Pakistanian leaders.
US hopes that will mean a small chance to prevent the tests.

which had its peak in the conduction of 5 underground nuclear
tests during the last days started in 1948 with the
establishmnt of India`s Department of Atomic Energy (DAE)
In 1956 the first Indian nuclear resarch center was built up.
1969 operation of the Tarapur Atomic Power plant started.
1974 the first Indian underground nuclear test were conducted.
And in 1998 India`s first hydrogen bomb were tested together
with 4 other nuclear bombs.

nuclear tests Russia will strengthen the control of their
nuclear and missile technology exports.



WASHINGTON
May 13 1998 (Reuters) -According to a report
Wednesday from the energy research  group more than a third of
the US and Canadian atomic generating capacity will have to
shut down during the next 5 years because of the high costs of
nuclear power.
This could mean a boost for the gas industry.
The Nuclear Energy Insitute accused the report of being more
wishful than realistic.

Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Carlsbad
New Mexico had been approved
by the Environmental Protection Agency.
At this site radioactive waste from the dismanteling of
nuclear weapons shall become stored.
The site is at about 2
100 feet deep and consits of natural
salt formations.
