Amongst these issues is the proposed nuclear waste dump at Sierra Blanca Texas only 30 miles from the Mexican border. Bush discussed this issue with Mexican Foreign Minister Rosario Green. He told her that if the site is unsafe it won't be built. ISLAMABAD May 5 1998 - Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan the architect of Pakistan's nuclear program denies all allegations that Pakistan has offered Iraq plans to build nuclear weapons. Khan even doubts the Iraqi capability to build a nuclear device even if it would possess a design. The IAEA is investigating the case. WASHINGTON May 5 1998 - President Clinton's national security adviser has asked the Senate to ratify a package of agreements to ban nuclear testing and limit nuclear arsenals. Some senators are reluctant to ratify the CTBT and the ABM treaty.
