Generations By Dmitry Solovyov  ALMATY (Reuters) - During an
international conference about the consequences of Russian
nuclear tests in Kazakhstan Kazakh scientists described  health
damages the tests caused and will cause among the population.
Around the Semipalatinsk test site at about 1.5 million people
have been exposed to radiation. During the following decades a
number of children with genetic mutations will become born.
In an appeal it was asked for financial support for the victims
and to solve ecological problems cause by the nuclear tests.



Saturday April 11 1998  MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico`s ruling
party accused US of beeing racist because of the US plan to dump
nuclear waste in Sierra Blanca close to Mexico`s border where
mainly poor Mexican-Americans are living.
Also Greenpeace this month had accused US for "ecological
racism."
