Jan 21 `98 (AFP) - Early Wednesday the
Pacific Swan
a ship carrying three containers of vitrified
nuclear waste from France to Japan left Cherbourg harbour
under protests of Greenpeace activists
other environmental
groups and local people. The shipment shall arrive in Japan
after a journey of 2 month. Its definite route isn`t still
known
but will probably be proclamated on Thursday.

Commission (NRC) put an Illinois Power Co owned nuclear power
plant on their "watch list" because of technical problems.
It is said that it costs a nuclear power facility tens
millions of dollars to improve their plant so that it is
removed from the NRC`s watch list. In meantime the NRC has 12
troubled nuclear power stations on their watch.



WASHINGTON

nuclear Regulatory Commission and Entergy Operations Inc
officials will take place on Friday because of discovered
violations at the company`s Waterford 3 nuclear power plant.
