navy nuclear safety inspector
Alexander Nikitin of treason

revealing state secrets and forgery
because he wrote a report about
th environmental hazards posed by the ageing russian nuclear
submarines. The report was published by the Norwegian Bellona
environmental organisation.
Bellona hopes that if Nikitin wins the trial doors for the work on
Russian military nuclear waste will become open.



WASHINGTON

China to stop its nuclear cooperation with Iran for beeing able to
implement the sales of nuclear technology to China.

radioactive waste into the English Channel Greenpeace was ordered by
the Cherbourg civil court to pay 10

500) .



PARIS 14 Oct. `97 (Reuters)-Greenpeace`s indictment against Cogema
letting illegally large particles of radioactive waste like cobalt 60
or caesium 137 in the Channel wasn`t granted by the Cherbourg
civil court. Greenpeace now tries to process at a Cherbourg criminal
court and to engage a French nuclear safety watchdog.

now consulted to examine the environmental effects around the
nuclear reprocessing plant in La Hague.



CARACAS 14 oct. `97 (Reuters)-President Clinton has signed
a legislation which fixes the Department of Energy duty to ensure the
safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile.
