WASHINGTON  18 nov `97 (Reuters) - US said it would spend $78
million on the project to rebuild the old and instable
sarcophagus which was built around the damaged Chernobyl
reactor  and which covers over 90 percent of the explosion`s
radiation.



WASHINGTON
Nov. 18 `97 (UPI) --Today shall be signed a
contract between President Clinton and Kazakhstan`s President
Nursultan Nazarbayev to allow peaceful nuclear cooperation
between the two countries. With this contract US gets greater
control about the safety of Kazakhstan`s nuclear reactors.



SEOUL
Nov 18 `97 (AFP) - As the Korean Central News Agency
wrote Desaix Anderson
the head of the Korean Peninsula Energy
Development Organisation  (KEDO) arrived on Tuesday in North
Korean`s capital. This visit takes place four days before
talks in New York  about a peace treaty between the two
Koreans will begin.

conference in New York leaded by the Ukrainian President
Leonid Kuchma and US Vice President Al Gore  to find ways to
finance the shoring up of the sarcophagus around the damaged
Chernobyl reactor.

Nov 18 `97 (AFP) - On Tuesday Greenpeace claimed to
know the route which the ship exporting extreme  deadly
radioactive nuclear waste from France to Japan will take.
According to them the shortest and safest route would go
through the Panama canal but there a lot of Caribean countries
are  announcing their protests.
