rejected to ratify the Start II disarmament treaty . But with
regard to the next year meeting between Clinton and Yeltsin
the ratification becomes more urgend
because then the
Presidents would have time to discuss other disarmament
projects.




TOKYO
Nov 13 `97 (AFP) - Japan`s nuclear power companies are
really enjoying Clinton`s decision to lift the ban of US
nuclear energy sales to China hoping that with the involvement
of great American companies it would be easier for them to
take part in China`s vast nuclear energy markets for what now
the costs are to high.



NEW DELHI
Nov 13 `97 (AFP) - India assured that they haven`t
got the atomic bomb and that they don`t have the intention to
build one. Same as Pakistan does.
As the Indian Prime minister was quoted India urged all
nuclear weapon countries to take stock of the situation if
this planet was to achieve the goal of nuclear weapons free
world in the 21th century.

de France (EDF) will change its promotional program for
nuclear energy. The new program will answer the basis
questions of nuclear power so that the population will be

NEW YORK
Nov 13 `97 (AFP) - For about 1.5 billion dollar
Westinghouse Electric Corp will sale its conventional power-
generation business to the German Siemens AG. As London`s
Financial Times says Westinghouse will do so
because it plans
to get rid off its struggling industrial businesses.

Nov 13 `97 (AFP) - Around Moscow there are at least
five nuclear reactors and nuclear waste dumps as a heritage
from the former Soviet-era. In this little distance from a
city nobody would now build nuclear reactors and it

especially the atomic waste could really become a problem for
Moscow.



TAIPEI
Nov 13 `97 (Reuters) - The decision of Taiwan`s
opposition Parliament not to give the budget for the US
project to build a nuclear power plant in Taiwan was canceled
by the ruling Nationalist Party on Thursday.
