Nov 5 `97 (AFP) - Habiger a top US general who
visited the Russian nuclear weapons stockpile and has given its
safety system extremely good marks
fears that he`s only seen a
selected part of the Russian Strategic Rocket Forces.
In the coming weeks there will be an exchange - an US team will
visit a  Russian rocket base and a Russish team an US missile
base.
According to Habiger the difference between Russian and US safety
standarts is that the USA  works more with technical
possibilities and Russia with people.



TAIPEI
Nov 5 `97 (AFP) -The US project to build a  nuclear power
plant in Taiwan was decided to become thrown out by Taiwan`s
opposition parliament in a vote on Wednesday with 59-42 to drop
the budget which was scheduled for it.
If the vote which`s legitimacy is still questioned by the
Kuomintang government will be passed by Legislative Yuan the
coming week it will become a formal and  binding  fact.

Hungary to store Hungarian nuclear waste over 20 years in Russia

although Russia has great problems with the elemination of
radioactive pollution in the country.
Russia is in duty to repay Hungary old Soviet-era debts of 650
million dollars.

Nov 5 `97 (Reuters) - The Canadian Government make it
easier for Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. (AECL) to get the nuclear
reactor contract with Turkey in giving the financial assurances
of C$1.5 billion for the sales of two nuclear reactors to Turkey
and in charching AECL itself  to undertake the therefore
needed environmental assessment.
