WASHINGTON
Nov 2 `97 (AFP) - According to Newsweek reports
the U.S. used theire knowledge about Russian plans to buy two
supercomputers for nuclear weapons research to press Russia to
sign the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. In exchange of
the signature the U.S. managed sales from computer giant IBM
to Russia. This should have been concluded in Rus.-U.S.
negotiation in 1995.



LOS ANGELES (Reuters 11/3) `97 - U.S. officials told that the
reason for Clinton`s agreement to the sales of nuclear
technology to China was a secret chinese  paper  which assured
that Beijing would stop all nuclear cooperation with Iran.
During the 9 days visit of China`s president Jiang in the U.S.
human rights demonstration took place in every city he passed.



ISLAMABAD
Nov 3 `97 (AFP) -During the visit from U.S.
Secretary of State Madelaine Albright
Pakistan told it would
not sign the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty before India does
so
fearing an Indian supremacy. On the other hand India will
not sign the treaty because it doesn`t include a limiting
period for the destruction of nuclear weapons by the nuclear
power states.
