Sept. 21 1997 (UPI) _ The USA and Russia together will
have to monitor the Iranian Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant
according to a Russian demand. Russia is building this plant.


BRUSSELS
Sept 22 1997 (AFP) 1.1 Million E.G. dollars will be
used to support the international Red cross and the Minsk
Childrens Surgery Centre in a screening programme for the
treatment of children suffering from thyroid cancer as a
result of the 1986 explosion at the Chernobyl-4 reactor.

ban Greenpeace from taking samples of discharges from the La
Hague reprocessing plant is rejected by a court on monday.


UNITED NATIONS
Sept 22 1997 (AFP) - The Comprehensive Test
Ban Treaty (CTBT) will be send to the USA senate for
ratification today according the US president Clinton. The
treaty is signed by 146 coutries
only 7 have ratified so far.

Russia Sept 22 1997 (Reuter) - The USA vice president has
made progress in resolving the dispute about the Russian
nuclear exports to Iran and about the START-2 strategic
nuclear arms treaty which is not ratified by Russia.


LONDON
Sept 22 1997 (AFP) - The Treaty of Rarotonga from 1986
about the denuclearization of the South Pacific will be
ratified by Great Britain in less than two days. Britain
signed the treaty in 1996 together with France and the USA.


MOSCOW Sept 22 1997 (Reuter) - Alexei Yablokov
the former
Russian environmental safety adviser of president Yeltsin
supports the statement of Lebed on the 'lost' portable nuclear
bombs which are constructed in the 1970's for the KGB.

Sept 22 1997 (Reuter) - The 1150 megaWatt
Millstone-3 reactor is supposed to be on line on 19 December
but the NRC control can delay that date. The reactor was
closed by the NRC in March 1996 for safety reasons.
