Jun 6, 1997 (Reuter) - Refering to a remark by member of
European Parliament, Nuala Ahern, who had said lobsters caught
in the Irish Sea near the Sellafield nuclear plant had showed
"unprecedented danger levels" of Technetium 99, Irish Minister
of State at the Department of Transport and Energy, Emmet
Stagg, voiced deep concern and said he would demand a
resolution from the British about that and other problems.
British Nuclear Fuel denied the danger.

Jun 6, 1997 (Reuter 6/6) - Former NRC official Edouad Trottier
was fined $5,000 for having leaked parts of a secret NRC
report about a possible manipulations of a safety test at
Maine Yankee to the plant in the late 1980's.

Jun 8, 1997 (Reuter) - New Zealand confirmed its policy to
forbid any nuclear powered or -armed ships to enter its ports,
which was set up ten years ago. Prime Minister Jim Bolger said
the countries goal would be complete nuclear disarmament.
