May 20, 1997 (UPI) - According to the Denver Post there are
acute safety lacks at the Rocky Flats nuclear weapons plant.
There would be 27,000 containers of plutonium which hadn't
been inventoried for month. The Montana politia would try to
win workers of the plant as members. The Department of Energy
admitted safety prblems but said they had been solved in the
past months.

May 20, 1997 (Reuter) - U.s. Deputy Secretary of state Srobe
Talbott spoke out in favour of a NATO expansion and said in
case of a threat also nuclear arms could be stationated in new
member states. In the U.S. Senate, however, the debat about
the expansion is dominated by financial considerations.

May 21, 1997 (Reuter) - North Korea refuses to provide
information on its nuclear reactors and fissile material that
was possibly extracted from spent fuel, a Japanese official
said referring to IAEA Secretary General Hans Blix.

May 21, 1997 (Reuter) - The berlin high administrative court
overruled a decision of the Magdeburg state court which denied
further hearings concerning the Morsleben nuclear waste dump.
Local people fear water could intrude the site 500 meters
below the surface. Gouvernmental plans to expand the facility
were cancelled and transports shall stop in 2003.

May 20, 1997 (Reuter) - Assets of the Phillipine Nuclear Power
Plant will be sold in a bidding, Phillipines national Power
Corp said. The plant was constructed in the 1980's but never
operated. The bidding will not include the building, which is
planned to be used for a natural gas plant.
