Apr 30, 1997 (Reuter) - The latest accident at a japanese
nuclear facility may jeopardize the country's ambitious plans
to make nuclear power its main energy source in the 21st
century. "The option of keeping the nuclear power programme
going will probably remain but with a revision of time
targets," an analyst said.

May 2, 1997 (UPI) - Manegement firm Associated Universities
Inc. which ran the U.S. Brookhaven National Laboratory was
sacked by federal gouvernment for continued safety lacks at
the facility. Energy Secretary Federico Pena named a case
where a tritium-contaminated water was leaked out a plume for
six years.
