Mar 25, 1997 (Reuter) - The U.S. airbase site at Greenham
Common, U.K., was returned into a park with some buisness
units, after the missiles were withdrawn some six years ago.
The base was subject to massive protests in the 1980's.

Mar 25, 1997 (Reuter) - The french state Nuclear Safety
Authority covered up two incidents at the Paluel nuclear power
plant at Rouen, where neutron flow exeeded the limits for
together 13 hours on November 20 and January 11. The
incidents, which the statt tried to hide, were caused by
software errors.

Dodewaard was closed after exactly 28 years of operation on
Wednsday. The small reactor was build to gain experience in
nuclear power, but after the Chernobyl accident all plans to
build more nuclear power plans were cancelled. Ther is just
one more nucleat plant in the netherlands, at Borssele, which
will be closed in 2004.

Foreign Minister Ikeda will sign a grant of 1.7 billion yen
($13.8 million) ending Japans denial of any grant-in-aid since
August 1995, which was set up as a protest against Chinese
nuclear tests.
