Mar 20, 1997 (UPI) - A radiation of altogether 740,000 Curie
was set free by the nuclear bombs producing Hanford facility
in eastern Washington between 1944 and 1972. The federal
administration is now setting up a programs for medically
monitoring about 14,000 people living near the site. The
program covers no care or compensation.

Mar 20, 1997 (Reuter) - U.S. president Clinton confirmed North
Korea would proceed with the 1992 [thought it was 1994 - WISE
A'dam] agreement of transforming its nuclear programm to an
exclusively peaceful one.

Mar 20, 1997 (UPI) - Bangor Hydro-Electric, which had payed
dividentds to its shareholders continously for more than 70
years, now halted payment because of losses of the Maine
Yankee nuclear power plant, of which the utility owns 7
percent. The station remained shut down since December. Bangor
Hydro-Electric is Maine's second largest utility.

Mar 20, 1997 (UPI) - Russia received a rate of $80 million of
the total $800 million for the construction of a nuclear power
plant in Iran. The internationally troubled construction will
start in 1998.
