Feb 24, 1997 (Reuter) - According to a study published by the
National Institue of environmental Health Sciences, the
accident at the nuclear power plant at Three Miles Island,
U.S., in 1979 is responsible for a raise of cancer rates in
the area downwind the plant. steven wing, chief researcher of
the study, said the findings point to a much higher release of
radiation than officially reported.

Feb 24, 1997 (UPI) - After a study about the increase of
cancer due to the accident at the Three Miles Island nuclear
power plant was published, reaserchers called for further
investigation. The study was submitted to the U.S. Court of
appeals, where 2,000 damage claims related to the accident
were thrown out last June.

Utilities and its former chief executive officer Bernard M.
Fox was filed in the U.S. District court of Connecticut for
