Jan 28, 1997 (Reuter) - Howard Canter, the Energy Department's
acting director of the Office of Fissile Materials Disposal
said the U.S. plans to burn plutonium from nuclear weapons as
MOX fuel in civilian reactors would depend on Russian
reductions in plutonium stockpiles, because the Clinton
administration wouldn't reduce its weapon's grade plutonium
uniliterally.

Jan 28, 1997 (Reuter) - North Korean advisers visited the
Taiwanese nuclear waste dump at Lanyu Island, which is
reaching its capacity. North Korea will be in charge for the
shipments from Lanyu to North Korea, the first of which will
take place already in February, according to local media.
