He said chinese positions to evolve in a ``very constructive direction''. 9 Oct 1996 (Reuter) - Quoting from what it claimed to be a top-secret Sept 14 CIA memorandum, the Washington Times reported on Wednsday that China secretly sold a special industrial furnace and high-tech diagnostic equipment with military applications for nuclear affords to Pakistan recently. According to the newspaper, the State Department sent a diplomatic note to China at Aug 30, protesting at the sale. No official comment was given yet. 9 Oct 1996 (Reuter) - The opening of part of an uranium enrichement facility in China was visited by Viktor Mikhailov, Atomic Minister of Russia. There are plans for constructing a new Chinese nuclear power plant with two russian-designed reactors, each at US$1.5-US$2 billion. Both stated agreed about further nuclear cooperation last April. 8 Oct 1996 (Reuter) - The US Department of Energy will expand the use of it's former nuclear test site in Nevada. A two- years study about environmental impacts of current and planned civilian and military experiments was recently finished.
