"All the contamination detected was surface radiation, and no radiation source has been found within the metals," Zhang Yuechun, head of the Environmental Monitoring Department in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, said. --- -- - 22 may 1996 (UPI) -- China and the United States are teaming up to build an experimental thermonuclear facility that will be the largest in the world, the official Xinhua news agency reported Wednesday. The project, an HT-7U Super Conductive Tokamak Control Thermonuclear Fusion Experimental Facility, is expected to be completed in China by 2000.
