20 May 1996 (Reuter) - Anti-nuclear boycotts took a toll on
French Bordeaux wine sales in northern Europe last year but
overall Bordeaux exports rose, the regional wine association
CIVB said on Monday. It said boycotts cost the French Bordeaux
wine industry 179 million francs ($36 million) in 1995.

20 may 1996 (Reuter) - Lithuanian police have seized 13 kg (29
lb) of radioactive uranium and arrested six people trying to
sell it in the port town of Klaipeda, the Baltic  state's
interior ministry said on Monday. Spokesmen for the interior
ministry and the prosecutor's office said they had no
information on the source of the uranium in the latest seizure
nor its  destination.

20 may 1996 (Reuter) - Environment group Greenpeace said on
Monday it would take a "very soft" approach in protesting
against Chinese nuclear tests. Speaking aboard protest ship MV
Greenpeace in Sydney, leading activists said  they were
sailing to Shanghai to meet local authorities and to hold an
"open day" aboard the vessel to enable the crew to explain
their cause to local Chinese.
