      9 May 1996 (Reuter) - A German intelligence official
said Russian smugglers might soon try to export more
contraband nuclear materials and suspected a Russian-Nigerian
drugs-for-plutonium swop might be in the offing. But the
official, identified only as Imhorst, told a parliamentary
committee investigating nuclear smuggling that reports he had
about two atomic bombs being sold to Iran were only
"boasting."  

      9 May 1996 (Reuter) - Three anti-nuclear militants,
seeking to demonstrate lax security at French nuclear power
stations, secretly entered a plant in southwest France and
climbed a cooling tower, eyewitnesses  said. The three said
through sympathisers that they planned to stay at the top of
the Golfech power station until Saturday.
