Last Friday's spill of corrosive sodium coolant called for an immediate shutdown at the experimental Monju fast breeder, the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper reported. But authorities took almost an hour and a half to stop operations at the Monju reactor, the semi-public Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corp. reported Monday.
