Subject: ANNOUNCEMENT OF CONSUMERS ENERGY MANAGEMENT CHANGES             

Discussion:

On February 25, 1998, the licensee announced that, effective immediately,
Mr. Kurt M. Haas will assume the position of Director of Engineering. Mr.
Haas will report to Tom J. Palmisano, Site Vice President, Palisades. Mr.
Haas held the position of Director of Engineering on an interim basis    
since October 1997, and was previously the Training Manager at Palisades 
for approximately three years. Mr. Haas had held positions of increasing 
management responsibility at Palisades since 1976. Mr. Haas held a senior
reactor operators license for three years. Mr. Haas holds a Bachelor of  
Science Degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan.   
                                                                         
It was also announced, effective in early March, that Mr. Nathan L.      
Haskell will assume the position of Licensing Manager. Mr. Haskell will  
also report to Mr. Palmisano. For the past seven years, Mr. Haskell has  
been a consultant in the nuclear utility industry. From 1976 to 1987, Mr.
Haskell held various positions within the former Consumers Power Company.
Mr. Haskell holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering 
from Michigan Technological University. Mr. Haskell is a registered      
Professional Engineer in the state of Michigan.
