Olivier as Senior Vice President & Chief Nuclear Officer for Millstone Station, effective October 18, 1998. Mr. Olivier was most recently the Senior Vice President - Nuclear for the Boston Edison Company, where he had overall responsibility for the Nuclear Organization, including the operation of Pilgrim Station. As the new Millstone CNO, he will be responsible for the decommissioning efforts for Unit 1, the recovery and request for NRC approval for the restart of Unit 2, and the continued operation of Unit 3, which resumed critical operations in July, 1998 after an extended shutdown of over two-years duration. Northeast Utilities Nuclear President & CEO Bruce Kenyon had been filling the position of Millstone CNO since December 1, 1997 upon the departure of Neil S. Carns. At that time, Mr. Kenyon announced that the executive search for a new Chief Nuclear Officer would begin immediately. This process culminated in the appointment of Mr. Olivier, who had been in the service of Boston Edison for 29 years. In addition to his recent executive position with BECo, he is currently serving as the chairman for the Assistance & Events Industry Review Group for the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO).
