At the end of the review period, the Commission will decide whether to resume the SALP program or terminate it in favor of another process. MR Number: 4-98-0055 Waterford 3 Date: 10/02/98 Killona,Louisiana Resident Inspectors Dockets: 50-382 PWR/CE Subject: PLANT RESTART AFTER FORCED OUTAGE Discussion: On September 17, 1998, the licensee shut down the reactor in order to replace a pressurizer code safety valve that had been experiencing increased leakage (PNO-IV-98-040). On September 26, the licensee completed all outage related maintenance activities. Major work completed during the outage included replacing the pressurizer code safety valves and Main Transformer B. Because of the approach of Hurricane Georges, the licensee remained shut down until the hurricane had passed and started up after the Federal Emergency Management Agency had indicated that the offsite emergency response capabilities had been restored.
