The ISFSI is located within the ANO protected area. Loading of fuel into the cask began on Monday, January 20 at 7 p.m. and was completed the following day at 5 a.m., for a total of approximately 10 hours. The first cask had been loaded in mid-December and required 32 hours to load the fuel. The second cask loading was completed in less time due to the experience gained by the work crew and the use of a submersible camera to accurately align the fuel bundles with the sleeves in the cask. Cask loading and movement of this second cask to the ISFSI could be completed as early as Sunday (1/26). Regional Action: The region will continue to monitor cask loading activities.
