The vendor reports cracking at the upper edge of the swivel pad material in an adjusting screw assembly, Part Number 1A-7840, used in Enterprise DSR-4 and DSRV-4 emergency diesel generators. The adjusting screw assembly allows for angular movement between the rocker arm and intake and exhaust valve stems of the power cylinder head. The nuclear power plants at the River Bend and Catawba sites are affected. The River Bend licensee reported this issue to the NRC on September 29, 1997, in Event Notification 33004. _
