Subject: MANAGEMENT CHANGES - BRUNSWICK                                  

Discussion:

CP&L announced on April 11, 1997, that Mr. Ralph Mullis, currently       
Manager of Operations Support, has been named Operations Manager.  He is 
replacing Chip Pardee, who is leaving the company.                       
                                                                         
John Reinsburrow, currently a shift operations superintendent, will      
replace Mr. Mullis as Manager of Operations Support.                     
                                                                         
In related moves, there will be a realignment of the Operations Unit so  
that all of the on-shift superintendents and the work control            
superintendent will report to a newly created position of Shift          
Operations Manager.  Bob Kitchen, currently superintendent of work       
control, has been named Shift Operations Manager.

Subject: TEAM INSPECTION                                                 

Discussion:

On April 14, 1997, a two-week on-site team inspection commenced at the   
Dresden Nuclear Station. This inspection is a followup to last fall's    
Independent Safety Inspection. The purpose of the inspection is to       
witness and evaluate maintenance and work planning activities during the 
Unit 3 refueling outage. The team is comprised of Region III, Region IV, 
and NRR inspectors. The State of Illinois resident inspector is also     
participating in the inspection. A public exit is tentatively planned for
May 12, 1992.
