MR Number: 4-97-0049 Arkansas Nuclear 2 Date: 06/10/97 Russelville,Arkansas Resident Inspectors Dockets: 50-368 PWR/CE Subject: COMPLETION OF 12TH REFUELING OUTAGE Discussion: On June 9, 1997, Arkansas Nuclear 2 synchronized to the grid following a scheduled refueling outage which began on May 9, 1997. The significant outage activities included modifications to the service water system, the high pressure turbine, moisture separator reheaters, and a digital upgrade to the main feedwater control system. Steam generator activities included a di-methyl amine soak and sludge lancing, eddy current testing, and tube plugging and repairs. One reactor coolant pump motor and two reactor coolant pump seal packages were replaced. Regional Action: The resident inspectors are continuing normal power ascension inspections of the facility. This affects about 250 union workers at the WNP-2 Nuclear Power Plant including maintenance crafts, health physics technician, reactor operators and non-licensed operators.
