The Unit 2 core reload is designed for a 24 month operating cycle. On Wednesday, the NRC authorized PP&L to use the ATRIUM-10 fuel in Unit 2 beginning with Cycle 9 under all operational conditions as defined in Technical Specifications. This Susquehanna Unit 2 core reload using the ATRIUM-10 fuel is the first use of the ATRIUM-10 fuel in combination with other fuel designs approved by the NRC. It was incorrectly stated that Mr. Graham Leitch, Vice President - Operations at Maine Yankee had resigned. He, in fact, was only temporarily assigned to work on restart special projects for Maine Yankee. He retains some duties of the Vice Presidency, while Mr. Robert Blackmore, the Plant Manager will serve as the Interim Vice President - Operations.
