This notice is issued to all fuel cycle conversion, enrichment, and fabrication facilities to alert them to requirements for reporting of fires and unplanned chemical reaction events (e.g., explosions). Several fires and unplanned chemical reaction events have recently occurred during the processing of licensed material. The Commission is concerned that such events are not being adequately reported to NRC.
