Subject: MANAGEMENT CHANGES                                              

Discussion:

On November 4, 1997, Boston Edison Company (BECo) announced the immediate
resignation of Tom Boulette, Senior VP Nuclear.  Ron Ledgett, Senior VP  
in charge of BECo's fossil generation and electrical customer service    
functions, including power transmission and distribution, was named      
Executive Vice President, Operations.  Reporting to Mr. Ledgett will be  
Vice President Lee Olivier, who becomes the Senior Nuclear Officer at the
site.  In addition to nuclear plant operations, Mr. Olivier's            
responsibilities are being expanded to include nuclear engineering,      
strategic planning, quality assurance and nuclear services. The nuclear  
engineering services manager, in addition to the group managers, will now
report to Mr. Olivier.
