The protective clothing appears to be from Professional Laundry Management, Inc. (PLM) in Gardner, Illinois, an Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety (IDNS) licensee. PLM launders anti-contamination protective clothing used in the nuclear industry. A citizen found several articles of protective clothing along two roads in Grundy County and became concerned about contamination potential. IDNS learned of the situation at approximately noon on March 3, 1997. The individual and the protective clothing items were surveyed by Commonwealth Edison and PLM employees. The individual was not contaminated and the clothing had very low levels of fixed contamination. IDNS is investigating PLM's control procedures for protective clothing from nuclear facilities.
