The exit sign was found in South Burlington by a private citizen and turned over to radiological and public health specialists in the State's Department of Health. According to State representatives, the sign is in good condition and is currently secured at State Police facilities. The State provided Region I with the make, model and serial number of the exit sign to facilitate its return to its owner. The exit sign was distributed under a general license by Brandhurst Corporation (now SRB Technologies) in 1988.
