MR Number: 1-96-0005 Susquehanna 1 2 Date: 01/29/96 Allentown,Pennsylvania RI PHONE CALL Dockets: 50-387,50-388 BWR/GE-4,BWR/GE-4 Subject: SITE MANAGEMENT CHANGES Discussion: Several site management changes which are effective on January 29, 1996, were announced on January 26, 1996, as part of a broad initiative to provide wide leadership developmental opportunities within the Nuclear Department. Mr. Kuczynski was appointed Plant Manager, which is a new position that reports directly to the Vice President of Nuclear Operations, Mr. Stanley. The Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, and Plant Services Manager now report directly to the Plant Manager. Mr. Friedlander became the Maintenance Manager and Mr. Dalpiaz became the Outage Management Manager, after interchanging positions. Mr. Miller, formerly the Nuclear Technology Manager, replaced Mr. Kuczynski as the Plant Services Manager. Mr. Simpson, formerly the Nuclear Modifications Manager, replaced Mr. Miller as the Nuclear Technology Manager. Mr. Saccone replaced Mr. Simpson as the Nuclear Modifications Manager. Ms. Hagan, formerly the Health Physics Supervisor, was appointed as the Work Management Team Manager, a new position that reports directly to Mr. Stanley, with a charter to re-engineer Nuclear Department processes for improved productivity and safety. Mr. Fritzen took over for Ms. Hagan. MR Number: 3-96-0015 Perry 1 Date: 01/29/96 Perry,Ohio SRI VIA PC Dockets: 50-440 BWR/GE-6 Subject: REFUELING OUTAGE (RFO5) COMMENCEMENT Discussion: At 1:10 a.m. on 1/27/96, the main turbine was taken off line and the reactor was shutdown beginning the fifth refueling outage. The outage duration is presently planned for 62 days. In addition to the normal refueling activities, the licensee plans to replace the A low pressure main turbine and main generator rotors, inspect and repair the service water system, test and modify 52 motor operated valves, test and clean the RHR heat exchangers, complete the Perry Course of Action items, plus numerous design changes and modifications.
