The NRC is issuing this administrative letter to inform addressees about (1) lessons learned on the desirability of early notification to NRC of plans to install dry storage facilities for spent nuclear reactor fuel and (2) a memorandum of understanding that outlines the respective responsibilities of the NRR and NMSS for decommissioning activities. MR Number: 1-95-0139 Vermont Yankee 1 Date: 10/30/95 Vernon,Vermont Dockets: 50-271 BWR/GE-4 Subject: Engineering Management Change and Re-Organization - Update Discussion: On October 25, the recently appointed Vermont Yankee (VY) Vice President- Engineering, Jay Thayer, announced his selections to the VY Engineering Team. The Engineering Team consists of: Mr. Patrick Corbett - Project Engineering Manager; Mr. Joseph Boivin - Technical Support Manager; Mr. James DeVincentis - Performance Engineering Manager; Mr. Michael Marian - Nuclear Services Manager; and Mr. Stanley Miller - Design Engineering Manager. Messrs. Corbett and DeVincentis have been with VY engineering, Messrs. Marian and Miller have been with Yankee Atomic engineering, and Mr. Boivin comes to VY from Millstone Nuclear Power Station. In Mr. Thayer's October 25 announcement, he projected that the Engineering Team would be working in the next couple of weeks to finalize the re- structuring of the VY site, VY corporate, and Yankee Nuclear Services Division engineering staffs to align with the five newly defined engineering groups.
