Subject: SURRY SITE PERSONNEL CHANGE                                     

Discussion:

Virginia Power Company management announced on December 26, 1995, that   
effective January 1, 1996, Mr. Michael D. Crist will become the          
Superintendent of Operations at the Surry facility.  He will be replacing
Mr. Stephen P. Sarver who has been transferred to the staff of the Vice  
President Nuclear Services.

Subject: OVERTEMPERATURE TRANSIENT                                       

Discussion:

On December 24 with the reactor at 100 percent power, the average reactor
coolant system (RCS) temperature increased approximately 4 degrees F and 
nuclear instrumentation indicated greater than 100 percent power. The    
temperature increase was apparently due to the dilution of boron in the  
RCS. The boron dilution resulted when the cation demineralizer was placed
in service to remove lithium. The licensee is investigating the cause of 
the apparent boron dilution.                                             

Regional Action:

The resident staff and regional inspectors are continuing to followup the
licensee's investigation.

Subject: RETIREMENT OF VICE PRESIDENT, WOLF CREEK NUCLEAR OPERATING CORP.

Discussion:

Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation announced that the Vice         
President Engineering, Dr. Robert C. Hagan, retired, effective December  
21, 1995.  Mr. Brad Norton, currently the System Engineering Manager at  
Wolf Creek Generating Station, will be performing the duties of the Vice 
President Engineering, until a permanent replacement is selected.
