Subject: BROWNS FERRY UNIT 3 STARTUP SCHEDULE                            

Discussion:

During control rod testing on Browns Ferry Unit 3, two control rods      
exhibited indications of excessive friction.  The licensee is evaluating 
control rod drive replacement and plans to conduct an additional open    
vessel inspection for misalignment of associated fuel support pieces.
