The Beaver Valley units are operated by Duquesne Light Company and co-owned with Cleveland Electric, Toledo Edison, Ohio Edison, and Pennsylvania Power. Opening arguments were held on September 12, 1994. Duquesne Light Company contends that Westinghouse knowingly supplied both Beaver Valley units with steam generators that would not last their 40-year design life. Previous suits filed by other utilities have been settled out of court. The steam generators used at Beaver Valley are Westinghouse Models 51 and 51M for Units 1 and 2, respectively.
