NRC Information Notice 94-61, "Corrosion of William Power Gate Valve Disc
Holders," will be issued August 25, 1994.                                
                                                                         
The NRC is issuing this information notice to alert addressees to        
problems related to the corrosion of carbon steel disc holders in William

Information Notice 94-63, "Boric Acid Corrosion of Charging Pump Casing  
Caused by Cladding Cracks," will be issued August 30, 1994.              
                                                                         
The NRC is issuing this information notice to alert addressees to the    
potential for significant damage that could result from corrosion of     
reactor system components caused by cracking of the stainless steel

Discussion:

On August 25, 1994, the New York Power Authority announced the following 
management changes at Indiant Point 3.  Mr. Jim Zach Former Point Beach  
Plant Manager will become General Manager Operations.  Mr. Jim Comiotes  
currently the Acting General Manager Operations will become General      
Manager Support Services (GMSS).  Mr. Gene Fogarty, currently GMSS, will 
remain on staff as an assistant to the Resident Manager.  A number of    
other subordinate managers have also been reassigned.  These changes are 
expected to be made effective over the next several weeks.               
                                                                         
Joe Vozzella will replace Vincent Coulehan as the planning and scheduling
manager, effective 9/12.  Joe was previously an employee of Stone &      
Webster.  Vincent will move to a position in the NYPA HAZMAT group at his
request.                                                                 
                                                                         
Ken Vehstedt will replace Jerry Sadauskas as the tech services manager.  
Ken was previously the technical manager in charge of the IP3 89-10 MOV  
program.  Jerry will remain with NYPA working on system certifications   
and the RCIP program.
